About This Spot

Step into Tacos Los Viejones, and you’re immediately met with the comforting hum of a neighborhood taco spot where the rhythm moves at its own steady, welcoming pace. The modest storefront on W 84th Avenue invites a congregating mix of locals who come here not just to eat, but to savor moments—whether grabbing a quick bite or sharing a casual meal with friends. There’s an unpretentious warmth to the space, the kind that makes you feel both at ease and eager to explore the flavors crafted behind the counter.

The vibrant energy here stems from genuine connections—the courteous exchanges between staff and customers, the quick yet thoughtful service, and the steady flow of people drawn by the unmistakable scent of grilling meats and caramelizing onions. This is the kind of place where the menu feels like a personal invitation to try something authentic and unapologetically bold, reflecting generations of flavor and technique.

As you settle into your order, you might find yourself drawn to the rich, smoky notes of tacos al pastor cooked to tender, flavorful perfection or the subtle crunch and depth found in those charred tripas. The variety on offer—ranging from tongue to asada—speaks to a culinary craftsmanship rooted in tradition but alive with personality. Lively salsas and perfectly grilled cebollitas add fresh and vibrant layers to each bite, inviting thoughtful tasting rather than rushed consumption.

It’s easy to see why this spot has become a quietly trusted favorite for many in south Thornton—where flavor is never sacrificed for speed, and where the everyday act of enjoying tacos feels like something cherished. Whether it’s a midday escape or an early evening stop, the experience at Tacos Los Viejones lingers like the satisfying last notes of a well-made meal, a reminder of why local spots like this matter so much.

Amazing tacos joint. The gentleman who helped us was very sweet! Highly highly suggest giving this a try. Their quesadillas were 10/10

This is my favorite taco spot in south Thornton. The pastor is especially good. All the salsas slap. Service is always fast and prices are fair. Highly recommend!

If you're looking for a truly outstanding taco experience, Tacos Los Viejones is a must-try spot. I had the chance to try their pastor taco, asada taco, and pastor quesadilla, and let me tell you, it was an unforgettable meal. The tacos were delicious – the pastor taco had the perfect balance of tender, flavorful meat with a nice bit of char, and the asada taco was equally satisfying with juicy, well-seasoned beef. Both were packed with flavor, and the toppings were fresh and complementary. The pastor quesadilla at Tacos Los Viejones is an absolute masterpiece. The crispy, golden tortilla has tender, perfectly seasoned pastor meat, and the fresh onions and cilantro add a bright crunch that contrasts beautifully with the richness of the cheese and meat. The red salsa is the finishing touch, offering a smoky depth and just the right level of heat that enhances the flavors without overpowering them. Together, the different fillings elevate the quesadilla to a whole new level, making it hands down the best quesadilla I’ve ever had.

There is a reason why there was a line prior to opening. These tacos are full of flavor. There tacos al pastor are their specialty and they got the recipe down to a science. My favorite tacos personality are the tacos de lengua (Tongue), also the caramelized onions and the salsas are well pair with their tacos. Fast friendly service and delicious tacos. Highly recommended

Kind of expensive for such small tacos. But they are very good! Not for the price of 2.50 a taco good only because they were smaller than my palm. But they did give a good amount of salsa, and they are worth the try if you’re in the area. They get VERY busy at night. So go early!

Seriously, the best tacos in the country, not just in Denver. My boyfriend, who is from Chihuahua and travels for work, says they are the best he's had in the States. I know they are the best tacos I've ever eaten. Plus the service is fast and friendly, the price is unbeatable, and they are always on point.

We just moved to this neighborhood and were looking for a new truck. We smell this truck all the time. Today we decided to stop. It didn't disappoint!! Food was really good! That little onion foil pack is grilled onions and jalapeno with some juice that was so freaking good!! The atmosphere is cool too. Everyone gets their food and eats it sitting on the back of their trucks cars or on the grass!! The price isn't bad either. I got six tacos(great size) and a bottle of coke for I think $19. Go try it!! **Not the best picture but it's really good**
